The three ways sellers do it
| Model | How it works | Good | Hard |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local supplier | A supplier in Morocco keeps the stock and ships for you | No stock, fast delivery | Lower margin, less control on quality |
| Small stock, import yourself | You import a small quantity and ship from home | Better margin, you check quality | Money tied in stock, import delays |
| Ship from abroad | The supplier ships each order from another country | Huge choice | Weeks of delay — hard with cash on delivery |

Most sellers start with a local supplier or a small stock, test which products sell, then import larger quantities of the winners.
Test products before you buy stock
- 1Pick a product that solves a clear problem or makes a clear gift, and that you can explain in one video.
- 2Build one strong product page: your own photos or video, a clear price with delivery, real answers.
- 3Run a small ad budget for a few days and look at the cost per delivered order, not per click.
- 4Keep the product only if it still makes money after confirmation and refusals — check with the profit calculator.
The margin most beginners forget
A product bought at 60 and sold at 199 looks like 139 profit. Take away delivery, refused parcels, ads paid on orders that never confirm, and packaging, and many beginners find they keep 10 or 20 — sometimes less than nothing. The usual reasons:
- Ad cost counted per order received, not per order delivered.
- A refusal rate assumed at 10% when it is really 30%.
- The supplier’s price going up after the first orders.
- Customers who receive a product that does not match the ad, and send it back.

Quality and trust decide everything
- Order the product yourself first. Photograph it, use it, check how it arrives.
- Never show photos or promises the real product cannot match.
- Choose suppliers who answer fast and replace broken items.
- Build a brand — a name, a logo, a consistent look — rather than a “shop of everything”. Returning customers are the real profit.
Stay legal
Selling online is a commercial activity: you need a legal status, and you are responsible for what you sell, even if a supplier ships it. Check that products are allowed and safe (cosmetics, electronics and children’s items have rules), and that you have the right to sell any brand you show. See Auto-entrepreneur status for an online store.

Questions people ask first
Is dropshipping legal in Morocco?
Selling online is legal with a proper status, and you remain responsible for the products you sell. Counterfeit brands and unsafe products are not allowed, whoever ships them.
How much money do I need to start?
With a local supplier, mostly your ad budget and a store. With your own small stock, add the cost of the first units. Start small and only scale what is proven profitable.
Can I ship orders from China to Moroccan customers?
You can, but delivery takes weeks and customers who pay at the door often refuse a parcel that arrives that late. Most sellers import in small batches instead.
